Christopher Sanders has endured periodic seizures for more than a decade, but his first attack behind the wheel of a moving vehicle came last Thursday amid the evening traffic of J.R. Allen Parkway.

The affliction could have proved fatal for the Phenix City man, whose Jeep Cherokee slowed to an unsafe speed and drifted across lanes. But luckily for Sanders, a motorist following close behind noticed his predicament and took swift, daring action to steer him to safety.
